The Salsola collina extract contains amino acids, glycine, betaine, phytosterols, flavonoids, carotenoids, glycosides, isoquinoline alkaloids, inulins, saponins, ketodicarboxylic acids, and micro- and macroelements in an absorbable form: iron, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium, zinc, silicon, copper, and others. The following effects can be noted when using the extract of Salsola for 3 or more months:
- hypoglycemic effect, tendency to reduce the levels of liver transaminases, alkaline phosphatase;
- positive influence on blood lipid spectrum parameters: increase in HDL levels and decrease in triglyceride content, tendency to reduce the atherogenic index;
- in patients with obesity and cardiovascular risk, a positive change in antioxidant status is registered according to the following indicators: increase in levels of coenzyme-Q10 and reduced glutathione, decrease in malondialdehyde content in the blood.

- obesity, including visceral, in the presence of risk of cardiovascular complications;
- pancreatitis and diseases of the pancreas;
- to protect the liver during treatment with cytostatics, anti-tuberculosis or other hepatotoxic agents, after anesthesia, as well as in cases of severe intoxication of various origins;
- to normalize metabolic processes in the liver in infectious diseases (liver tuberculosis, syphilitic liver damage, pseudotuberculosis, etc.), diffuse connective tissue diseases (systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, etc.);
- in severe food intoxications: poisonous mushrooms, berries, poor-quality food products, and surrogate drinks (including alcoholic);
- for the prevention of disorders and optimization of liver and pancreas functioning in practically healthy people:
• after festive meals with fatty, fried, and spicy food, alcohol;
• when working with liver-damaging factors or living in ecologically unfavorable regions;
• with a tendency to form cholesterol gallstones in healthy people and in risk groups (chronic cholecystitis, postcholecystectomy syndrome, condition after conservative dissolution of gallstones);
• under heavy physical loads (in builders, miners, submariners, climbers, astronauts, professional athletes, etc.);
- in gerontological practice – for prevention of premature body aging.
